Blue Lagoon Lake Novice 30°48.824 N

  Located just north of Huntsville, this rock quarry is filled with fresh clear water. The site is mostly used for training. There are places to park with picnic tables and you can even bring your own BBQ grill.
  There is a fee for entry.
Markers - None.
Details - Visibility is good. There are platforms for training and even a few sunken boats to explore.
Marine Life - Not much marine life but you may see a turtle or small fish.
Recommended Certifications - Open Water.

Comal River River Novice 29°43.271 N

  The Comal River, or as locals call it, the longest shortest river in the world, is located in New Braunfels. This 2.5 mile river is a fun drift dive and is a popular tubing spot so watch out for people floating above you. Each year there is a Trash Fest where divers clean up thousand of pounds of trash along the bottom. You'd be surprised at some of the treasures that are found along with all the trash.
Markers - None.
Details - The water temperature is a constant 72° year round. Enter upstream and drift down the river.
Marine Life - Bass, catfish, turtles.
Recommended Certifications - Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Drift.

The Pond Lake Novice 29°38.849 N

  This small lake was used for training in the 1990's.
Markers - None.
Details - Shore entry into the lake. Visibility was limited to about 5-10 feet. There was a school bus at about 25'.
Marine Life - Sunfish, catfish, bass, and turtles.
